Whiteboard:
These are the basic steps to setting up your mimio interactive whiteboard. Basic setup is relatively simple, but to learn how to use your mimio in your classroom you will want to browse the video instructions, teacher guides, and free online courses that are offered in the More Resources section at the bottom of this page.
  Step 1.
Unfold the Mimio:

Plug in the USB.

Plug the included mini-USB cable into the socket on the bottom recessed end of the mimio:

If you have a wireless mimio, you can skip this step.




Attach the Mimio:




Attach the mimio to your whiteboard using the mimo mounting brackets if you plan to use it for an extended amount of time.

• Snap the mounting brackets over the suction cups, making sure they clip into the recesses on the edges of the mimio.

• Carefully peel the backing from the adhesive strips.

• Mount the mimio by pressing the bar, with mounting bracket in place, in the upper lefthand corner of your whiteboard.



*Note: For short periods of time, clean the surface of the whiteboard with a cloth and use the attached suction cups.

Attach Your Laptop:

Plug the other end of the USB cable into your PC USB port. The capture bar should be automatically detected by the PC and the mimio software.

If you have a wireless mimio and no USB cable, you will need to plug the small bluetooth dongle into your PC USB port.

  Step 5.
Setup the Mimio Mouse:
• Remove the battery cover by lightly pressing down and puching the cover back away from the tip of the mimio mouse.

• Insert an AA battery and put the battery cover back in place.
  Step 6.
Calibrate With the Projector:

• Project your desktop image onto your whiteboard making sure there's 2"-3" between the edge of the whiteboard and the image.

• Also make sure there's 2"-3" between the edge of the image and the mimio device itself.

This is the Interactive button :
• Press the Interactive button on the mimio device and follow the onscreen instructions using your mimio mouse.
  Step 7.
Use the Interactive Mode:

Use the mimio mouse as a mouse to control your destop or interact with applications.
• Press the Hover button (front) to hove the mimio mouse over your desktop or applications.
• Press the Right-click (back) button to execute a right-click at the current mimio mouse location.


Use the program Mimio Tools to annotate over any application.
• Find Mimio Tools in your programs folder and open it.
• Click Screen Markup to "freeze whatever screen or application you are using.
Annotate the frozen screen with Mimio Tools. All tool features are available during screen annotation.
Click Mouse to "unfreeze the screen. All annotations are automatically archived for later use in the mimio Markups.


Use the program Mimio Notebook to create and present content to your class.
