| VC Field Trips and Collaborations: | Virtual Field Trips and classroom collaborations via video conference are a new opportunity available to WUSD teachers. Our portable Tandberg video conferencing equipment provides the opportunity to host a virtual field trip or collaboration in your classroom.

| Step 1. |
Research: | Decide the topic and whether you would like to offer a virtual field trip or classroom collaboration in your classroom. | |||||

Collaboration: |
A classroom is a videoconference exchange between two classrooms. A great place to begin research into a classroom collaboration is the Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration (www.cilc.org) | |||||
Professional Content Providers: |
Zoos and museums are examples of content
providers that offer IP based videoconferencing. A great place to begin
research into a classroom field trip from one of these sources is the

| Step 2. | Contact IT Department: | Once you have decided on a videoconferencing opportunity
you will need to contact the WUSD IT department (pdehombreux@wusd.us).

| Step 3. | Schedule and Test | You will be responsible for scheduling the time of the event. In addition, you will need to schedule a test run ahead of the actual event to make sure the equipment is working correctly. Note: For more information on the portable videoconferencing
equipment consult the Tandberg videoconferencing page in this handbook. |
