WUSD Tech Handbook :: Student Computer Access
Student Computer Access
Students will only be able to log in to WUSD computers if they know their WUSD log in and password. As a teacher you will need to manage student logins in the following scenarios:
-If a new student doesn't know his login or password.
-If a student forgets their login or password.
-If a student would like to reset their password because it was stolen.
Note: If you would like to access the documents of your students in order to grade work simply click on the "Student Files" icon on the desktop and find your student in the list

Step 1.

From any connected WUSD computer you will be able to access the program entitled "Active Directory Users and Computers." It is located inside the Programs folder on the desktop.
  Step 2.
Use the Directory Tree in the window on the left to find WUSD > Your School > Users > Students and select the student in question in the window on the right.
  Step 3.
Once the student is selected, choose the "Action" button in the top menu bar.
  Step 4.
Choose "Reset Password" if you need to change the password. Choose "Properties" in the drop-down menu and click on the "Account" tab in order to find the students "User Logon name:" (123 in the example).
  Step 5.
You are finished. These are the basic steps of using the Active Directory. If you have more questions please post them in the Technology Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Forum.
