WUSD Tech Handbook :: Printing
Printing: You can print your documents to any network printer, but you must know the name of the printer you wish to use.
Note: Classroom printers that are connected to a computer or teacher laptop will only be able to print from the computer they are connected to.

Step 1.
Choosing the Printer: You must choose the printer name from the print menu by double-clicking on the name of the printer. (This screenshot is from a thin client computer)
  Step 2.
Adding a Printer:
If you don't see the printer you want to print to you will need to add a printer. In order to do this you will need to click on "add a printer" and type in your school location in the field labeled "location".
To find the printer you want type in the abbreviated name of your school in the Location: field text box. Click the Find Now button and a list of printers in your school will appear from which you can choose one to add.
Note: wre, cbe, ahs, cdjh, and 7mile are the abbreviations for each school.

  Step 3.
Printing:
When you have clicked print you should see a message in the bottom right corner of your screen telling you that the documents have been send to the specified printer.

Problems:

If your document doesn't print check the following possibilities:

Note: Printing again will only cause more problems.

- You accidently printed to a different printer.
- The printer is jammed, off, or unplugged from the network.
- The printer is out of paper.
- Your computer is not connected to the networkr.
- There is a job stuck in the printer that the district IT department will have to clear.

  Step 4.
Setting a Default Printer:

You will want to set your default printer so that you don't have to select the printer each time you print.

First you will need to open your Programs folder on the desktop and open the Devices and Printers icon.

Next you will need to right-click on the printer that you want to set as your default printer and choose Set as default printer from the menu.
