Home of the FALCONS!
Alchesay High School was founded in 1956. The first graduating class of Falcons was about 12 students strong! Since, AHS has grown exponentially. Today, over 600 students pass through the doors of the school every year.
Among the first administrators of Alchesay High School were Principal Dr. R. Montgomery and Superintendent Fred R. Lewis. The Falcon Football field was named and dedicated in Superintendent Lewis' honor. The first official school building, affectionately called 'The White House', is located on Elm Street in downtown Whiteriver. Within its first few years of operation, the location of the school was moved to what's now called the 'old' Northland Pioneer College. AHS moved to its current location in 1980 and in 1999 expansions were made including a new administrative office, library, east and west wings and media arts center.
Though there have been many changes through Alchesay High's years, the original mission and vision remain. The school, its staff and teachers, are dedicated to providing students in the White Mountains with a quality education.
From 1956 to today, we are...FALCON STRONG!
