Application Process and Requirement for Certified and Administrative Positions
Requirements

To apply for a certified position with Whiteriver Unified School District, you must submit the following:

  • A teaching application - Interested applicants should submit application via mail, fax, or email.  If you encounter any problems contact Julianne Endfield, Human Resources at 928-358-5800 or jendfield2@wusd.us.
  • A copy of your valid Arizona Teaching License (or copy of current teaching license within another state)
  • A copy of your valid AZ Fingerprint Clearance
  • Either a placement file or three letters of recommendation
  • Resume documenting years of service
  • Native American Preference - If you are seeking employment under the "Indian Preference" provision of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, then also include a copy of your Certificate of Indian Blood and your Tribal Census Number. Only members of Federally recognized Tribes may request this preference.

The Process (Certified and Administrative positions)
These procedures reflect the desire of Whiteriver Unified School District to identify and employ those applicants with the highest qualifications. The following steps take place once your completed application is received. Please note: A review of your file may occur at any point in the process and is not contingent on a particular step in the process.
  • Step 1: Paper Screening - Applications are evaluated by the Personnel Department then forwarded to the appropriate hiring Administrators for cosideration.
  • Step 2: Formal Interview - The hiring Administrator will contact the applicant if selected for an interview.
  • Step 3: Administrative Review - The administration will decide which candidates meet the requirements and will be recommended to the Governing Board for approval.
  • Step 4: Governing Board Approval - The Governing Board makes the final decision on hiring. Upon this approval, candidates are notified to meet with the proper departments to complete all necessary paperwork.
After Hiring Process (Certified and Administrative positions)
If hired, you must complete the hiring process with the Personnel Office and example would be the following documents:
  • Your valid ORIGINAL Arizona Teaching Certificate
  • Official transcripts
  • Proof of immunizations - If your immunizations are not current, you will have to get whatever is necessary before you may teach.
  • Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9) - You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open and print the applications. If you do not have Acrobat, click on the image to download it free.
