Whiteriver Schools believes that all children can learn. We believe that our district has the responsibility to provide each student with special education services in the least restrictive environment. Ultimately, our aim is to address as many academic concerns in the general education classroom. However, some students are identified for possible special education eligibility through a process that begins with a Student Intervention Team at each school. If extensive interventions in the general education classroom are not effective, a multidisciplinary team comprised of teachers, parents, and other appropriate professionals may convene to review data and to determine a student-centered direction to take. Whiteriver Unified School District employs a highly qualified staff of special education professionals. Services include academics, behavioral, speech, occupational and physical therapy, audiology and vision. We are committed to providing the very best special education services to the children of Whiteriver Schools.
